This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar browser storage DinghyFleet uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It reflects what the application actually stores today — not tools we might add in the future.
This policy covers both DinghyFleet websites: the public marketing website at dinghyfleet.com and the application at app.dinghyfleet.com. Both offer optional analytics that runs only if you consent to it, but they are measured separately and the technical set-up differs: the marketing website loads Google Analytics 4 directly and only after you allow it, while the application delivers Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager. Where a section describes storage that is set after you sign in, it applies to the application.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Modern web applications also use closely related technologies — in particular localStorage and sessionStorage — which store information in your browser in the same way and are treated identically in this policy.
DinghyFleet is a single-page application, so most of what it stores uses browser storage rather than classic cookies. We refer to all of it as “storage” below.
2. Who operates this website
The platform is operated by DinghyFleet sp. z o.o., Jana Heweliusza 11/811, 80-890 Gdańsk, Poland. Questions about this policy can be sent to the address below.
The same company operates both dinghyfleet.com and app.dinghyfleet.com, and this policy applies to both.
DinghyFleet Inc., a Delaware corporation in the United States, is the parent company of DinghyFleet sp. z o.o.. DinghyFleet sp. z o.o. operates both websites and is responsible for the storage described in this policy.

The table below lists the storage entries DinghyFleet sets, grouped by purpose. Entries shown with angle brackets contain a variable part, such as the identifier of your organization.

We do not run advertising, remarketing or cross-site tracking, and we use no social plug-ins, session-replay or fingerprinting technologies on either website. Both the marketing website at dinghyfleet.com and the application at app.dinghyfleet.com use an optional analytics measurement, and no analytics cookies or analytics storage are created on either of them unless you have actively agreed to it.
On the marketing website at dinghyfleet.com (including www.dinghyfleet.com) the analytics service is Google Analytics 4, loaded directly and only after you choose to allow analytics; if you choose “Essential only”, or make no choice at all, it is not loaded. In the application the same analytics service is delivered through Google Tag Manager, which acts purely as the tag delivery layer. There, the tag container is present on the production application host app.dinghyfleet.com and may load while the application starts, but analytics storage is set to denied by default. We use Google's advanced consent mode: while consent is denied, Google Analytics cookies and analytics storage are not permitted, although Google tags may still send limited cookieless signals carrying your consent state, as documented by Google. Full Google Analytics 4 measurement using analytics storage takes place only after you allow it. The two websites report into separate Google Analytics properties.
4. Categories we use
- Strictly necessary
- Required for the platform to work: keeping you signed in, securing your session, remembering that you accepted the Terms and remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off without breaking the service.
- Functionality
- Set only after you sign in, to deliver features you explicitly use: remembering your active organization and workspace, your language and interface preferences, your last marine-forecast location, and which guidance messages you already dismissed. They contain no tracking identifiers and are never shared.
- Analytics (optional, consent required)
- Optional, and used on both websites. If you agree, Google Analytics 4 stores an identifier in your browser so we can measure how the website and the product are used in aggregate and where to improve them. Analytics storage is denied by default, and no analytics identifier or other analytics storage is placed on your device until you actively choose to allow it. On the marketing website nothing analytics-related is loaded before that choice; in the application, where the tag container is already present, Google tags may still send limited cookieless consent signals while consent is denied.
- Marketing
- Not used. We do not run advertising, remarketing or cross-site tracking on either website.
Analytics is off unless you switch it on. We set the Google Consent Mode v2 default to denied for analytics storage and for all advertising-related signals, and until you make an affirmative choice it stays denied — so only essential and functionality storage is set. You can choose “Essential only”, and you can change or withdraw your analytics choice at any time, as easily as you gave it: on the marketing website through the “Privacy & cookies” control in the footer, and in the application under Privacy & cookies. Your choice is communicated to Google through Consent Mode v2 immediately when you make or change it, so that Google Analytics may not store or read analytics information on your device while consent is denied; in advanced consent mode limited cookieless signals may still be sent in that state.
5. Legal basis and your choice
Storing information that is strictly necessary to provide the service you requested does not require your consent under Article 399(3) of the Polish Electronic Communications Law (Prawo komunikacji elektronicznej) implementing the ePrivacy Directive; it is based on our legitimate interest in operating the platform securely. Recording your cookie choice itself is necessary for that purpose, so that we can honour it.
Functionality storage is set only inside the signed-in application and only as a consequence of actions you take, to deliver the functionality you asked for. It is not used to profile you or to follow you across other websites.
Analytics storage and the related measurement are not necessary for the service, so we rely on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the corresponding ePrivacy rules. Consent is opt-in: analytics storage stays denied until you actively allow it, and withdrawing it returns analytics storage to denied so that no further analytics cookies or analytics storage are created, without affecting processing carried out before. In that denied state Google tags may still send limited cookieless consent signals; full measurement with analytics storage requires your consent. The analytics measurement is a product-usage foundation only: we do not send customer, client or business-content personal data into it, we do not attach your account identity to it, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
6. Managing storage
On the marketing website at dinghyfleet.com you can review and change your analytics choice at any time through the “Privacy & cookies” control in the footer, and in the application at app.dinghyfleet.com under Privacy & cookies. Choosing “Essential only” sets analytics storage back to denied, so Google Analytics may no longer store or read analytics information on your device; in the application limited cookieless consent signals may still be sent.
You can also block or delete cookies and site data through your browser settings. Because our authentication and tenant context depend on essential storage, blocking it will sign you out and may prevent the platform from working correctly.
7. Third-party pages and transfers
When you pay for a subscription or open the billing portal, you are taken to pages hosted by Stripe. Stripe sets its own cookies there, including cookies required for security and fraud prevention, under its own cookie and privacy policies. The same applies if you sign in with Google: the sign-in page is operated by Google, and if you open the appointment scheduling window on dinghyfleet.com to book a live demo, that window is operated by Google.
If you consent to optional analytics in the application, Google acts as our analytics service provider: Google Tag Manager delivers the tags and Google Analytics 4 receives the usage measurement, under our Google Analytics configuration and Google's own terms. Retention of the analytics data is governed by the retention setting configured in that Google Analytics property; the analytics identifier stored in your browser expires as described in Google's documentation.
Any transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area associated with those services is covered by the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to this policy
We review this policy whenever we change the technologies we use, and at least once a year. The current version is always published at /cookies with its effective date. Questions can be sent to:
